Moisture Minder™ is an advanced sensor that accurately measures moisture content in-line (during production). It measures and displays the moisture content of hygroscopic plastics such as plastic pellets, flakes or regrind in percentage or PPM (parts per million). These sensors are easily retrofitted to virtually any drying hopper, silo, material line or machine throat. The online, real-time moisture analysis is displayed on a touchscreen control unit. This unit can display data for up to eight hoppers. It includes control systems that can divert or recirculate material that is not within the provided dryness specifications.
About BryScan™
BryScan™ is a proprietary technology of Bry-Air PROKON and its patent protected in several geographies. It determines the core moisture content independent of the density, colour and surface structure of the measured material. It is a powerful asset used across industries like food processing, grain milling, extrusion, injection moulding, construction material, chemical and pharma.
The rugged stainless-steel body of Moisture Minder™ has been designed to meet the most demanding requirements and needs expressed by the industry. It supplies long life with accurate results. Based on compact construction, it can be easily installed in various places within the production line. It is built using quality components to the highest standards and specifications.
We can therefore offer our product guaranteed by Swiss-made technology.
Advantages
Moisture Minder™ is very useful due to the following advantages.
Direct Inline Measurement
Moisture Minder™ eliminates the need for Offline Moisture Analyzers. It saves money and time, and prevents negative results due to inconsistencies and human error. It provides the direct inline measurement of moisture content.
Auto-Calibration Function
Auto-calibration function offers a considerable enhancement of measurement accuracy and repeatability. The purpose of the auto-calibration function is to correct the accumulated errors at the sensor output. Referenced physical inputs allow the adjustment of the measurement and calculates calibration coefficients so the transfer function of the measurement chain is periodically corrected.
Total Traceability
Integration and production traceability of moisture data are a must in the medical and automotive industries. Moisture Minder™ can collect dynamic production process information, optimise production allocation, achieve advanced manufacturing and trace the production process of products. Furthermore, this production process information can be monitored remotely by a PC, tablet or smartphone.
Usability
Ease of use has been achieved by paying detailed attention to the physical and logical ergonomics of the navigation menu, customer support operations, settings, calibrations, schedules and alarms. Proprietary (PRO-soft) code monitors and controls all aspects of the BryScan™ function, including automatic internal calibration, maths calculations, diagnostics and communication. With larger sensor installations where multiple sample points are required, it is normally advantageous to use a multi-channel control box. These units provide economic benefits and allow easy installation for an expanding plant. It is capable of measuring additional requirements for moisture. All the most common industrial interfaces for factory automation and integration with other systems are supported.
Measure Function
Moisture Minder™ uses indirect methods and a calibration against a known moisture amount is required. The physic values are allocated to the values using primary reference methods (e.g. Karl Fisher). The system calculates and stores the calibration line and the correlation coefficient taken from the laboratory. The system offers a wide database of products.
Connectivity
Moisture Minder™ provide remote control via VNC and Web Server. It guarantees connectivity with enterprise operating systems and information technology through the latest standards. It is not just an analysis tool but a way to get data and statistics and impose a quality standard on your production line. Thus it is an important step to achieve the Smart Factory, our systems are able to communicate with other devices and adjust important parameters of production. Ease of use has been achieved paying detailed attention to the physical and logical ergonomics of the navigation menu, setting, calibrations, schedules and alarms.
Moisture Minder™ sensors are specially designed for customers of 4.0 smart technology. It is a powerful asset used across various industries and processes such as food processing, grain milling, extrusion and injection moulding, construction material, and chemical and pharma.
Note: Bry-Air Prokon, a subsidiary of Bry-Air Asia, currently sells its product, Moisture Minder™, in the European and American market, using its patented BryScan™ technology.

Moisture Sensing Technology measurement technique is based on the relatively high dielectric permittivity of water (80-30) in comparison to the dielectric properties of the polymers (2-5). It also includes the measurement of diamagnetic properties of water. The variation of water content within the product would result in a large variation in the combined dielectric constant, which would then be measured by monitoring the changes in the dielectric signal. Additionally, at particular excitation frequencies, measurement is affected by two dielectric absorption peaks for free and bound water molecules. By using a sophisticated built-in microprocessor, developed jointly with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), we can utilize data to calculate the actual moisture content of resin as it passes through the Moisture Minder™ sensor.
Moisture Minder™ sensors are available in two types, i.e., M5 and M100.
