Harvansh, a 68-year-old resident of Jaildar Mohalla, Bhiduki, Palwal, faced cataract issues but hesitated to seek help due to lack of company. As the sole male member in his family, going outside the village was challenging. Upon learning about an eye camp at Siddh Baba Mandir from a friend, he decided to attend. At the camp, he registered and, after a wait, discovered cataract in his right eye. Tests for sugar and B.P. were normal. Transported to Gurgaon with other patients, the hospital provided food and lodging, and the staff treated everyone kindly. Post a successful operation, Harvansh received medicines, spectacles, and a safe bus ride home. Grateful for restored vision, he expressed thanks to Bry-Air and IGEH for their invaluable support in organizing the camp.

Ram Bati, a 65-year-old resident of Bhiduki, Palwal, relies on her four sons and four daughters since her husband, Mr. Ghanshyam, passed away five years ago. Her family’s financial struggles prevented her from seeking medical attention for her low vision, causing difficulties in tasks like removing stones from rice and threading needles. Informed by her grandchildren about an eye camp, she attended the check-up. Diagnosed with cataracts, she eagerly prepared for the operation, having endured vision problems for two years. Transported to Indira Gandhi Eye Hospital in Gurgaon, the Bry Air Staff provided a bus and refreshments. The hospital’s courteous staff, accommodation, and food made the pre-op process comfortable. Following a successful operation, Ram Bati is now delighted to have clear vision in her left eye.

Khushi Jha, a 14-year-old 8th-grade student, has made impressive strides in her studies despite financial constraints. Her father, Varun Jha, works as a mall clothes seller, earning 12,000 rupees monthly, facing challenges in providing quality education for Khushi and her siblings.
Khushi enrolled in the Pathshala program in April 2021, initially reserved and struggling academically. Pretest scores in English, Maths, and Science were low, prompting Ms. Komal, her dedicated Pathshala teacher, to take on the challenge. Khushi, introduced to the GDD software, embraced virtual learning, enhancing her understanding of Math, English, and Hindi. Within three months, Khushi mastered foundational concepts and transitioned to regular school subjects.

Usha Kumari, an 11-year-old from Dhankot, Gurgaon, thrives in the 4th grade. Raised in a family of six, her parents, despite lacking formal education, prioritize learning for their children. Usha’s father, a mason, and her mother, a homemaker, migrated from Bihar in search of work. Introduced to Gyantantra Digital Dost (GDD), Usha, a meritorious student keen on art and craft, now embraces interactive learning. GDD’s relatable content enhances her understanding of subjects like Maths, EVS, Hindi, and English. Grateful for the program, Usha aspires to be a teacher, thanking Bry-Air for selecting her school for GDD.

Kaki Devi, 35, residing in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, previously in Chakkarpur, Gurgaon, heads a family of seven, including in-laws, sister-in-law, and two children. When her husband relocated to Ghaziabad, she learned about the DRI Udaan program through an HPPI survey. Intrigued, Kaki enrolled the next day, starting with basic tailoring and advancing to higher levels. Despite lacking prior stitching knowledge, she mastered the craft, creating diverse garments. Back in her hometown, Kaki established a successful boutique, operating for 2-3 months, now earning Rs. 5000 to 6000 monthly. Grateful to DRI and HPPI, she credits their support for empowering her in the tailoring business.

Tanya Dubey, 21, of Chakkarpur, Gurugram, weathered the challenges of the pandemic with resilience. Her family, migrants from Azamgarh, faced hardship when her father, a parking services supervisor, encountered unemployment. This prompted Tanya to temporarily halt her studies. Determined to be self-reliant, she excelled in a beautician’s training course, securing the top position. Swiftly employed at Sugandha Beauty Parlour, she later advanced her skills in an advanced program. In the last quarter of 2022-23, Tanya joined Prerna Beauty Parlour near Krishna Market, solidifying her place in the beauty industry and embodying the spirit of perseverance.
